iPRODUCE was present at the HÁBITAT Congress 2021, organised by AIDIMME, which took place last 21 October 2021.
This sectorial event is one of the most important events about innovation strategies in the home furnishing sector (called “Habitat” in Spanish) in Spain. This year’s central theme was “transition to circular businesses”. The event addressed the impact of the circular economy on manufacturers from a business perspective, and to understand the opportunities for innovation that it entails. All this in a realistic way to face current barriers and make sustainability a viable business option.
iPRODUCE participated at the event with a dedicated booth where it invited attendees to learn more about the project, the progress achieved, and a selection of the tools aimed to support open innovation and social manufacturing.
At the booth, the project had a TV showing all videos about the tools and in the main entrance a large monitor showing a video (see below) of the developed open innovation space tools, as well as the project roll-up.
During the coffee-break, the video of the project was projected on a video wall (and streamed for the online audience). iPRODUCE was represented by the local partner AIDIMME, which explained iPRODUCE and the Open Innovation Space (showcased with the video) to attendees.
The event focused on strategic innovation, competitive environment and business opportunities for managers and professionals of the habitat and building industries that AIDIMME works in (e.g., furniture, lighting, bathroom and kitchen, construction, facilities, board, hardware, etc.), and therefore mobilised architects, interior designers, decorators, distributors, and other Spanish stakeholders from the furnishing (‘habitat’) sector.
Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the event was held in a hybrid format that combined the physical presence of speakers, sponsors, and organisers with the simultaneous online streaming of the event. In total, the event was attended by 244 people, 114 in person and 130 online.
