After an initial awarding of the finalists of the INNOVAMOBEL Spanish competition at the Habitat Fair in late September, an additional award ceremony was held on 28 October 2022 at the EcoContenedor Social de la EASD Belluters (Valencia) for the two finalists and the winner of the competition.

Organised by the Spanish cMDF (AIDIMME and Océano Naranja), the ceremony aimed to recognise the best designs submitted to the INNOVAMOBEL Open Competition. Salvador Caballero received the highest score, first prize, with his Workit project and the two finalists, the second and third classified were Marina Marchante and Carlos Ponce with their projects “Cocina Seica” and “Cuna Evolutiva“.

The award ceremony was held at the exhibition developed by the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de València (EASD) within the framework of the World Design Capital Valencia 2022 (WDCVV2022): the “Social EcoContainer” project. The project consists of a maritime container intervened and transformed into social housing. It exhibits the designs developed by the students developed by the Product Design specialty of the EASD. Some of the students who participated in the Ecocontendor project also participated in the INNOVAMOBEL Open Competition. In this way, it was possible to take advantage of the enclave to deliver the prizes within the framework of the “EcoContenedor Social” exhibition.

The awards ceremony was attended by the promoters of the EcoContenedor Social project, the teachers who actively participated in the preparation of the students and the exhibition, the direction of the EASD, the head of studies, and on behalf of of the WDCV 2022, Vicent Martínez (President of the Design Foundation of the Valencian Community and national design award).
